 May 6, 2025 Stainless Fabrication, Inc. (SFI) proudly celebrates a remarkable milestone – 40 years of excellence in custom stainless steel tank and equipment fabrication!

 

It's a journey that began in May 1985 with three determined owners building tanks in the field, and today, we stand as an industry leader known for quality, reliability, and partnership.

Our growth from those initial three founders to nearly 200 skilled personnel today is a direct result of our company-wide commitment to these values and an unwavering desire to be the best at what we do.

 

A Journey of Growth and Innovation

Our 40-year history is marked by continuous growth and strategic evolution:

• Humble Beginnings (1985): SFI opened its doors, focused on field fabrication.

• Early Expansion (Late 80s/Early 90s): We quickly grew, adding shop fabrication capabilities, hiring key personnel (many still with us!), and earning crucial ASME "U" (1988) and NBIC "R" (1993) certifications.

• Establishing Roots (1993): We moved into our purpose-built 30,000 sq ft facility in Springfield, MO, providing room for future growth.

• Adding Capabilities (Late 90s/Early 2000s): Significant expansions added production space, in-house radiography (1997), and a dedicated Electropolish Bay (2003), opening doors to the biopharmaceutical industry.

• Investing in Technology (2000s-Present): SFI has consistently invested in efficiency and precision, adding CNC plasma cutting, CNC lathes and machining centers, an Omax Jet Machining Center, and continually upgrading welding, grinding, and material handling equipment.

• Strategic Partnerships (2008): SFI joined Exchange Income Corporation (EIC), fueling further growth opportunities.

• Continued Expansion (2010s-Present): We've added more production space, enhanced testing capabilities (hydro pad), improved logistics, and consistently upgraded facilities, including our recent machine shop and field equipment upgrades (2022-2023).

   

SFI Today and Tomorrow

Today, SFI operates with nearly 200 employees across more than 125,000 square feet of production floor. Our high-quality stainless steel tanks, vessels, and custom fabrications can be found in every state in the continental U.S. and in several foreign countries, serving a diverse range of industries.

As we celebrate this 40-year milestone, we look forward with enthusiasm. SFI remains a growth-oriented company, constantly seeking ways to improve through technology, process refinement, and developing our talented team. We embrace the challenges of diverse projects and welcome opportunities to partner with new customers and enter new markets.
