THAT IS ONE LONG TANK

In one of our buildings, we have about 60,000 square feet of production space and still, some tanks look impossibly huge on the shop floor. Questions such as how much will it weigh, how can it be lifted and moved and how can it be shipped have to be considered and planned.

The 35,000 gallon tank shell shown in the photo is in the early stages of fabrication. At the time the photo was taken, it was 12-feet in diameter and 41-feet long – that’s bigger than most luxury motor homes! Before it’s finished, it will be fitted with an additional 16-foot long cone bottom, a 2-foot high top head and legs that extend 4-feet past the bottom of the cone. Once complete, it will ship to Ohio, where it will be installed, standing vertically, reaching its full height of 63-feet…

And, SFI builds stainless steel tanks much larger than this! Tanks up to 60,000 gallons can be built in our shop and when tank size is too large to ship or jobsite conditions require it, our field crews build tanks on-site up to 750,000 gallons.
